Celebrated nana's 21st bdae yest. Actually it was long overdue...like almost 2 weeks ago, but with kx bz with roadshows and pj away in perth, we couldn't meet up on the day itself...

Aniwae, she generously treated us to a scrumptious buffet @ Pan Pacific's Summer House. I had reserved the table for 4...and me and kx went through alot of haggling to have the restaurant manager convinced to give us the SMU discount rate - had to bring the gourmet club magazine to show them proof...haha..

The food there was quite delicious, juz abit lacking in variety...there were no lobsters - to my everlasting regret...But the scallops and prawns were especially delicious...so was the Pan Pacific sausages with wine sauce...there was drunken prawn soup and double-boiled pork ribs with lotus root - quite abit of standard there....but the rest of the hot food section didn't really meet my fussy expectations.

Then there were desserts and fruits section - nonya kueh, log cakes, puddings, ice-cream etc...it was really a fabulous spread. I took some pics over there and got chastised by the manager - we were not allowed to take pics over at the buffet section...well, but he let it pass...hehe

Okay..to the most important part of the day - we got nana a wine-coloured 5 mega-pixel samsung digital camera for her 21st...itz a really nice camera, abet a little too expensive...we ended up having to get her to fork out a little for it too...kinda embarassing...but she was shocked, surprised and paiseh that we spent so much on her also...as well as grateful that we got her sthg she otherwise would not have been able to afford.

Yest was like a whole xmas gift exchange, nana got xmas prezzies for us all and pj got us gifts from perth...me and kx din buy anything for them la...like super paiseh. Itz been a long time since we had a get-together like this, esp when we din take any courses with pj this term...happy that the bonds are still stayed strong. We toked and laughed alot yest...pj laughed until she cried...as dramatic as ever. It was on the whole v enjoyable, and i hope we'll all meet up again before sch reopens....Winks*
