Hmm...It's been ages since i last blogged...2 months have gone by in a flash...Regatta has passed, the term is over and now i'm into a entirely different dimension.
It really feels like such a relief that i don't hafta bid for modules next term....thanks to exchange, which means i don't even have to do well, just credits will do. I've gotten my acceptance letter from ESSEC and booked my tickets...will be leaving Singapore for France on CNY...haha...that sounds so good...don't have to go 'bai nian'...then once i'm done with exchange, i'll be touring both spain and italy before going up to tokyo. Oh man...this is so exciting!!!
To add to this load of excitement, just when i thought i will be doing some temp job for 2 months doing some sai gang, the right opportunity came along...credit suisse for the 1st time posted a winter internship for operations/finance interns the week before exams...so here i am now, doing an internship with credit suisse. It's a totally new experience, doing the london shift (european hours) where i start work at 5pm when everyone is ready to knock off and i knock off work when everyone is sleeping, between 2-4am...haha! Some reckon that i'm a lil' crazy, but i quite enjoy it right now...the team i'm attached with is pretty new, coz Credit Suisse just outsourced their LON and NY backoffice ops into Singapore to cut costs and i'm part of that new team...Yay!
The culture there is really quite relaxing and open, you're encouraged to interact as much as you can on top of completing ur daily work, as opposed to the traditional mindset of having to look as if you were very busy even though you have nth to do or do sai gang). Over here, we really do take over a person's job and even more, get to try out what different segments of the team are doing....Really happy right now...Everyday is one to look forward to...We even get educated about where we fit in the structure of the whole company, the mission and visions etc. Exactly what we learn in our business leadership courses...haha
The perks are good too! With a daily meal claims of up to $35 and transport claims for cab....internships have never been better....i seem to be eating good food all the time...
But of course, things are nv perfect....my workplace is in changi...which is damn far from my house la...it's lucky that i can take cab home....otherwise i'll flip man...Just like for the exchange, everything is smooth except for that bit of kinks...being on the waitlist for 18 feb's flight...hope to get it confirmed soon...or i'll be late to france...bleahz...
Well, but life will be boring without some kinks here and there aint it? Till next time!
